The Atlas Odyssey trek offers a week-long journey through the central High Atlas mountains, traversing valleys and Berber villages, with the highest point reaching 3300m above sea level. This energetic trek spans five days, leading to the summit of a cathedral-shaped rock and exploring remote Moroccan landscapes. Immersion in Berber culture enriches the experience, followed by a three-day disconnect in the nomadic lands for peace and fresh air. The trek concludes with a return to lively Marrakech. Day 1 Marrakech
Arrival before 4 pm
Atlas Odyssey Travel representative to meet you at the Airport. where an airport transfer will drop you off at the Hotel. 4 o’clock, early evening to meet your guide and newfound buddies for a briefing in the lobby and lace up your shoes for the Medina food safari through the maze of souks, and food stalls piled high with enticing fresh spices. Soak in a riot of scents floating through the air as you gather for your first Moroccan feast and watch the chefs cooking up a storm right in front of you.

Day 2 Morning transfer to the Cathedral
Today you will drive through the plains of Marrakech towards Ouzoud waterfalls for our lunch break and a walk around the lovely landscape of the Middle Atlas. In the afternoon, we continue our journey passing the third biggest Moroccan Dam filling from the Atlas for a lovely stay Across the Cathedral shaped rock.

Day 3 Summit the Cathedral Rock
Today’s Morning schedule is to summit Cathedral Rock for the picturesque view of the Alpine Trees Valley and an optional rustic swim in the Ahansal River. Late afternoon, we join our public transportation driver for a 1h30min scenic drive to Zaouiat Ahansal, the village of Kasbahs.

Day 4 Kasbahs and Gorges
It is the right time to meet our Camping crew before we start our first full day Hike. Moroccan mint tea awaits inside one well-preserved kasbah of Agouddim village history buildings. Our first outdoor meal is to be served by our chef for the next four days near the Ahansal River. After lunch, we leave the kasbahs behind to face the spectacular cliffs of Taghia limestone gorges for two hours to our first campsite.

Day 5 Big Day in the Atlas
Early morning, lace your boots up for the long hike to Agoudal Nilmchan, tribal grazing land of the high atlas, for a nomadic cooked lunch and a fresh mint tea glass in the middle of nowhere looking over at the majestic limestone mountains with sunlight on. Before, we carry on the journey to our campsite.
Please note that the altitude gained today is 1000 meters. 7 hours hike

Day 6 Land of the Nomads
The Atlas Mountains trip offers endless opportunities to explore. Today, we embark on a journey to the picturesque Lake of Izourar, nestled amidst the lands of nomadic Amazigh communities in the Atlas range. The allure of its scenic beauty and the invigorating air sets the tone for the day. Following a leisurely lunch and a brief respite, brace yourselves for the breathtaking natural vistas as we make our way to the lakeside campsite.

Day 7 The Happy Valley
Once breakfast is finished. lace up your hiking shoes for an exciting day of exploring the Happy Valley and learning about the agricultural customs of the Berber tribes who have lived there. Lunch will be our crew’s final meal for the day. Our final evening in the Atlas mountains will be spent in the guesthouse with a delectable dinner and a warm shower.

Day 8 Marrakech
Atlas Odyssey trek is about to finish, today we will drive through the gorgeous valley of Ait Bouli to the natural bridge of Imin-Ifri for a hike, and lunch at the Tizouit guesthouse. Marrakech is only 1h30min away if you want to have small souvenirs for your beloved relatives. A group farewell dinner in the new town honoring the wonderful time the ATLAS ODYSSEY family experienced.
